The Tech Carnival held by HKT at Kai Tak Cruise Terminal concluded successfully in mid-June. The event attracted xx participants from various sectors. Featuring a futuristic design, the 4-day carnival covered an area of 101,000 square feet. The two-story exhibition floors consisted of 7 core themes including 5G and smart city, enterprise solutions, FinTech, global network, revolutionary eco-system, mobile solutions and smart living. In support of the Smart City vision of Hong Kong government, the carnival enabled visitors to understand how emerging technologies such as 5G, AI,robots, IoT, big data analysis and cloud computing helped enterprises improve operating efficiency, sales and customer relationship. In addition, visitors were also the first to experience the benefits brought by strategically deployed sensors and smart street facilities such as smart telephone booths, smart recycle bins and smart lamp posts. 

Of these, the enterprise solutions pavilion showed one-stop digital solutions in various areas such as retail industry, financial industry,office solutions, smart city and the development of the Greater Bay Area. There was also highlighted presentation of HKT’s SD-WAN and network security solutions, with which HKT helped enterprises expand their business and became a reliable ICT partner for many enterprises in the Greater Bay Area in practicing “going global” and “bring in”.

In addition to themed exhibition areas, a series of conferences on thought leadership were also held at the carnival. As well as equipment manufacturers, technical suppliers, manufacturers, etc., the conferences gathered famous leaders and influential figures from different sectors,with a view to exploring the effect of emerging technologies on the digital transformation of enterprises and the development of smart city, and establishing a sharing platform to promote innovation in Hong Kong. The topics included “How to deploy a secure network in the Greater Bay Area?” and “Your world enabled by AI”. The conferences drew a full house, with participants responding enthusiastically. 

Another highlight of the carnival was the first 5G Tech Concert staged by HKT on 15 June, which combined thelatest technologies with live performance. The performing singers included KayTse, Louis Cheung and boy band MIRROR. Theconcert further heated up the atmosphere of the carnival.
